MASSAGE SERVICES

At Gangi Martial Arts & Massage we encourage our students to enhance every aspect of their lives, spiritual, mental and physical, through the practice of martial arts and the access to massage therapy and Reiki energy treatments. Below are the different varieties of massage currently available.

Therapeutic Thai Yoga Massage
Our specialty! Sometimes referred to as assisted Yoga, Thai Massage incorporates stretches, range of motion movements, compression, trigger point therapy and passive engagement for the ultimate in deep relaxation. Performed fully clothed on a specially designed Thai massage mat, this amazing form of therapy avoids the discomfort and limitations of traditional Swedish table massage. Don’t be intimidated by the idea of stretching during a massage - we assure you that you won’t have to do anything but relax while we do all the work for you! Traditional Swedish Massage
The most recognized form of massage for general relaxation and lymphatic drainage. This is for people who have nothing specific that needs fixin’, but just want to relax and enjoy the soothing qualities of a healing touch. We can also include an aromatherapy element to this massage that is specifically geared towards individual clients!
Deep Tissue Therapeutic Massage
A little more intense than regular swedish massage, deep tissue incorporates trigger point therapy for those pesky little knots in your neck, shoulder, back, or anywhere else you may carry your tension. Some of those knots can be pretty tender, so this type of massage can sometimes walk that line between pain and pleasure, but we will always work within your level of tolerance to give you a truly therapeutic experience. Aromatherapy can also be utilized with this modality.

Orthopedic Massage
This is for those with very specific physical issues that need sorting out. It is not generally done as a full body massage because the time is better spent focusing on 1 or 2 areas of complaint. Since many of the most common musculo-skeletal issues (ie tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, etc.) are sometimes due to chronic overuse or lifelong postural issues, it is recommended that this type of massage be pursued on a regular basis. These types of problems do not develop overnight and cannot be resolved by a single therapy session, so this type of massage will involve establishing a treatment protocol under the guidance of one of our therapists.

Reiki
Reiki is a Japanese form of healing that incorporates elements of many other alternative healing practices such as spiritual healing, aura cleansing, crystals, chakra balancing, meditation, aromatherapy, naturopathy, and homeopathy. Reiki involves the transfer of energy from practitioner to patient to enhance the body’s natural ability to heal itself through the balancing of energy.
