Shihan Gangi has helped to improve the Chicago Martial Arts scene for many years. Before he opened his own school in 1985, he had been training and competing for over twenty years and had attained black belt status in several arts. He has also put his knowledge to the test in competition as well as in the bouncing and body guard professions. Throughout his years of teaching he has produced many champions in point fighting, forms and kickboxing. Even though he’s now well into his fifties, Shihan Gangi still teaches most of the classes at the Wauconda school and is active training the next generation of champions in all areas of competition including mma. His skill as an instructor should be evident by how many people have spent 10, 20 and even 30 years training with him. Shihan Gangi believes that “Anyone can achieve Black Belt but most give up too soon. It takes a strong will to persevere and a desire to improve yourself”.
